People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child -- our own two eyes. All is a miracle.

Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire.

Another artist I like very much is John William Waterhouse, a British painter from the late 19th century/early 20th. His work is rather ethereal; often using women, myth and poetry as his subjects and inspiration. The first is a simple, but beautiful sketch. The second painting called "The Orange Gatherers" I liked because I thought it looked like something my mom would have in her house.

Return to the Norm

We only regard those unions as real examples of love and real marriages in which a fixed and unalterable decision has been taken. If men or women contemplate an escape, they do not collect all their powers for the task. In none of the serious and important tasks of life do we arrange such a "getaway." We cannot love and be limited.
